Wells, The Residential Town You May Not Know
The town of Wells
is very diversified. Many people only know the
fabulous beaches,
tasty restaurants and wonderful shopping along
the Coastal corridor. Let us introduce you to
the beautiful tranquil life that Wells can also
offer. Branch Heights has a quiet location, surrounded by land forever deeded as
open space.
Its location offers a very convenient web of country
roads for easy access in any direction without
encountering the summer tourist traffic.
Branch Heights is
located off a tree lined country street called
Branch Road (9A), which connects Route 109 (near
I-95 & the train station) and Kennebunk Village.
Its location is just 1.7 miles from Spiller Farms,
where you can purchase locally grown produce or
if you prefer, to walk into the fields and orchards
to pick-your own fruits and vegetables. In addition,
it is only 3.3 miles from the Walter Marsh Recreation
area, which is an impressive complex of ball fields
and other town facilities run by the Wells Recreation
Department.
The town of Wells
offers many amenities and services for its residents.
It has a first class school
system and a top-notch
emergency health facility plus
a wide array of other health related services.
There is a 24 hour emergency (911) service and
a very effective and dedicated police
department which keeps the town
very safe according to today’s standards.
The fire
department is a combination
of dedicated full time and volunteer- residents
who not only handle all of the fire calls but
also do a fabulous job of running the 24 hour-a-day
ambulance service. The town offers its residents
a 11,000 sq. ft. library with a vast array of related services also available.
Wells is very oriented toward providing for the
children within the community. There is a very
active recreation department with facilities
throughout the town, offering a wide range of
activities. The Chamber
of Commerce offers a great deal
of information on their website (including current
events, restaurants, attractions, lodging, services,
and lots of helpful information regarding the
town). And last but not least, anyone who is interested
in relocating to Wells may want to visit the very
comprehensive and informative website which the Town
of Wells hosts.
In short, the town of Wells, which is comprised of 62 sq. miles and
has a year round population of about 10,000, is one of the finest
towns in Southern Maine in which to live.
